Brand Azeite Romano
Created in 1994 by Sociedade de Azeite e Destilaria Dias, Lda., the “Azeite Romano” olive oil intends to honor the locality where it was created: Bobadela. Known as “splendidissima civitas”, a most splendid city, as they called 2000 years ago, the village of Bobadela presents nowadays important trace elements of roman occupation, which turns it into an icon of the Oliveira do Hospital county and of the Center Region of Portugal.
Produced exclusively by physical processes, that only include the washing, decantation, centrifugation and filtration treatments, with no chemical additions, this is a virgin or an extra olive oil that highlights it self by its high quality, fruity flavor and an acidity degree of 0,5. It has an intense flavor and smell of healthful olives and its produced with Galician olives from the center region. It is ideal to temper in raw (salads and other dishes), to use in confectionery and in some sauces, soups, braises and marinated.
This “precious liquid” should be stored in a cold dark place and kept away from intense smells, like spices that can contaminate its flavor.
When exposed to very low temperatures, the olive oil can acquire a thicker and solid aspect, but it returns to its normal state when back to the ambient temperature.
